Advantech’s EtherCAT Solution for the Integrated IC Packaging Machine

System Requirements :

With the diversification of semiconductor end products, including flash memories, logic chips, analog chips etc., and the backend of a semiconductor process has to integrate multiple processes into a single machine, reducing the variety of machines required on the production line and thereby greatly shortening the production cycle. The integrated machine itself also has to be able to provide for faster production, complemented with optical inspection to decrease the rate and cost of manual errors, which is also a very important factor. Due to limited space, the size of the machine itself is not allowed to increase due to integrated functions, so the setup of the control is a key factor to be considered.

System Description :

The PCI-1203 is a 2-port EtherCAT PCI Universal card. It is a ready-to-use EtherCAT development platform for all PC-based industrial automation. The AMAX-3285 is an 8-axis EtherCAT motion slave module and provides the ability to connect step motor drives and servo motor drives with CW/CCW and Pulse/Direction interfaces to EtherCAT networks controlled by Advantech EtherCAT master PCI-1203. AMAX-3285 has open frame designs for horizontal placement and an interface connector mounted on the board. With a to-servo-drive transfer cable, it can be conveniently connected to Mitsubishi J3/J4, Yaskwa Sigma V/7, and Panasonic A4/A5 servos. The ADAM-5000/ECAT is 4-slot distributed flexible system can provide high-speed, high-precision remote I/O for EtherCAT.

Advantech’s WebAccess Platform with WISE Wireless Solution Enables Equipment Networking and Process Visualization

System Requirements :

To facilitate machine status monitoring, the collected data needed to be transmitted to a monitoring station. However, because of the factory’s complex layout, installing a wired network was not possible. The new solution needed to be capable of collecting and transmitting data to the management center via the factory’s existing wireless network. Moreover, the wireless device had to be easy-to-install and compact to avoid occupying too much space. Because the work-in-process (WIP) inventory passes through a workstation every 3 to 5 seconds, the wireless module responsible for collecting data must have sufficient speed to acquire real-time signals (accurate to 0.1 seconds).

Advantech’s WebAccess/SCADA software was required to support on-site data processing, chart analysis, production reports, and alarm notifications, while also offering convenient connectivity and data access. SQL server support was also necessary to facilitate integration with the back-end manufacturing execution system (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

System Description :

Advantech provided a production line monitoring solution that combines WISE-4050 IoT wireless I/O modules with its WebAccess/SCADA software. At the front-end of the solution, multi-channel digital I/O WISE-4050 modules

Convenience Store Energy Saving Application by Advantech WebAccess

System Requirements :

Our customer wanted to reduce their energy costs by at least 10 percent and having installed solar panels in their store locations they needed to be able to send the power to where it was needed and when it was needed. Since the stores are open for 24 hours and it’s onlysunny forroughly 12 of those, it was essential that the power distribution to the lighting and refrigeration units was managed efficiently.
